Mesner – Black ‘n’ Orange
I cant tell you how long its been since i heard this song, all i can say is that it reminds me of my teenage years in secondary school when a friend of mine was giving out leaflets about this band. He give me a tape of their debut single and it was awesome but i lost the tape and couldnt find anywhere to buy album by the band with this song on it, till a random moment when you “search youtube for songs”.

Ive always loved music and Trance/Dance music is my favorite genre of music because it can just make you feel great sometimes. Ever since i first heard songs like;

Ive always wanted to make my own songs, these days its possable thanks to the huge range of software out there such as Ableton Live,Pro Tools,FL Loops,Reason and more. So ive started looking into how you make and arrange a Trance song. Its not as easy as it sounds as theres quite a bit of work and effort involved its true that with the powerful range of DAW’s (Digital Audio Work Stations) out there its a task made slighly easier.

Ableton Live 8 is such a great software program for making music, ive been messing around with it over the easter holidays and a made a few new songs. Nne of them are any good and were all made from scratch i thought id upload them for anyone to listen to.
Ive been following tutorials from SonicAcademy.com and have been trying to make a Trance /Dance tune and of course its not easy. But its fun and something i can improve on i guess.
None of these songs contain any copyrighted samples as they were all made by me. None of the tunes have been named so the names are bit random.

Songs that make you feel good: The Temper Trap “Sweet Disposition”
There are times when you hear a song and you go “wow, this is awesome fuck whos this band?..” etc. I just turned on the TV 30 mins ago and caught a video that looked cool and then the song was awesome too.
Not knowing who the hell the band or song was called i was determined to find the song and video and luckly i recognised the lead singer from a picture on the 2fm website. This song is awesome and the video is cool as well check it out.
Doves @ The GMEX Manchester 18-Dec
The Doves played in the GMEX in Manchester on the 18th Dec and it was one hell of a gig. The doves were awesome and there setlist had all the best songs even the support of the Superfurry animals were great too.
Only problem was they only served Carling in the venue, no wide selection of beers and largers like in ireland.

Songs that make you feel good 1- Oct 09
At the moment im listening to the fantastic tune by “Chicane – Poppiholla” which i knew i heard before as its been all over the place recently and it turns out that the Chicane version is a remix of the Icelandic band Sigur Rós from their 2005 album Takk.

This song is awesome its the kinda music that makes (me) feel alive etc. Chicane have always been one of those bands that bang out a cool tune once in a while but this is pure awesomeness.

Theres another great tune i heard on the radio the other day thats almost as good as Chicanes Song but no quite.
The Pixies – Olympia 1st October
I went to see the Pixies in dublin on thursday the 1st of october with my sister whos a huge fan. I never listened to them once since that day on the bus to dublin where i listened to the “Doolittle” album. And at first play i thought hmm its ok but.. So we got into dublin early and into the Oylmpia at about 8.10 where the support act was some guy singing and drumming loudly.
The atmosphere was electric and there were people there in their 30’s and up. So into the bar for a quick few pints of bulmers in a plastic cup at €5.50 which is a bit expensive but its a concert so what the hell. The bulmers must have been wattered down cause i was drinking them dam fast. So in we went took our seats and the place was packed and sold-out. This was the second night the Pixies were playing, they were doing three nights.
What followed was something magical and something ill never see again a legendary band playing great songs. Theres a great selection of videos on youtube from the gig so heres the awesomeness you missed.
