No Man’s Sky – Fix for being stuck in wrong galaxy after finishing the community event quest

Backup your save file before you do anything:
Type the following in the windows run dialog (Windowskey+R) to view the folder where your save game is located.
%APPDATA%\HelloGames\NMS\

Make a copy of the folder inside you should see a folder beginning with st_<bunch of numbers here>
eg “st_700045453”

Your NMS save file is located in; “C:\Users\windows_username\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS”

Wrong galaxy:
If the No Mans sky CE (Community Event) put you in the wrong galaxy after doing the quest heres how you get yourself back to the galaxy you were in. Example I was teleported back to “Euclid” galaxy when it should have put me back in the galaxy i came from the “Budullangr”.

Save Game Editor:
You’ll need to download the No mans sky save editor from;
Download here

Steps when you download the Save Editor
Note:
You will need to install Java 8 from Oracle get that from here;
https://java.com/en/download/

  • Unzip the NMS Editor
  • Double click the file called “NMSSaveEditor.bat”
  • Go to the File menu
  • Select “Open File/Path”
  • Browse to the  No mans sky folder on your windows C drive.
  • Your NMS save file is located in;
    “C:\Users\<your_windows_username>\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS”
  • On the Main panel select the save slot that your game is stored in.  In my case its “Slot 1- NORMAL”
  • Go to the edit menu and select “Cordinate Viewer”
  • In the galaxy drop down pick the galaxy you werein before the last NMS patch i.e the galaxy you should have been sent back to.
  • Save the changes if asjked when you exit the NMS save Game editor.
  • When you load of the game again find the nearest Space Station and use the teleporter in game to go back your base.Video showing how to set the galaxy in the NMS Save game editor below;

Rainbow Six Seige Connection Problems Error 8-0x00000052

If your getting this error and you cant connect to the Rainbow Six Seige Servers its most likely a NAT issues.   If you check the options menu when the game starts up it probably will say “NAT type Strict”.

You will need to port forward to fix this issues;

https://support.ubi.com/en-gb/Faqs/000023138/Connectivity-issues-in-Rainbow-6-Siege

2. Ports
If following the steps above to update and configure your firewall does not resolve the issue, it will be necessary to forward ports. You will need to forward these ports to your computer’s IP address for the best possible connection:

Uplay PC:
TCP: 80, 443, 14000, 14008.

Game Ports:
UDP: 6015

You will need to forward the port 6015

No Mans Skys PC Possable Stutter/Hitching Fixes

Found this fix for the game on reddit which seems to fix the terrible stutter problems that people are having;

https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/4xgw82/pc_users_incredible_fps_fix/

The Fix:
Is to create a shortcut to the games executable file “NMS.exe”.  Then in the target window paste the following;

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start “Process Monitor” /High “E:\GOG Games\No Man’s Sky\Binaries\NMS.exe”

Note:
Replace “E:\GOG Games\No Man’s Sky\Binaries\NMS.exe”with the path to game on your system.

EDIT:
This fix doesn’t work for me and in fact seems to make the game perform even worse, its best to update to the “BETA / Experimental” Patches available on Steam and GOG.

Steam and Modern Warfare 2- Steam goes for maintenance and CoD MW 2 dies

mw222_thumbIf there ever was a case for dedicated servers for Modern Warfare 2 its now, steam has gone on some maintenence update but so what you say well the problem is Call of Duty Modern Warfare on the PC needs the Steam “cloud” to work and so now its imposable to play the game. Now if Modern Warfare 2 was working on Dedicated servers this would  never happen.

So FUCK Infinty Ward,Steam and Activison for fucking up what was a a great game and turning it into a pile of steam shit.

Steam: find out how much your getting ripped off

redalertripoffsteamWhile searching for info about steams rip-off pricing i found this script that you can use to show just how much Steam is ripping you off.  It turns out that steam is pricing some/all games at the rate of 1€ = 1$.

In late 2008 Valve’s Steam online games store implemented a new regional pricing system. Prices had formerly been the same across all regions, and USD was the only currency accepted for payments. After the change, prices were presented in USD, GBP or EUR depending on the user’s geographical region. Steam employed an exchange rate of 1€ = 1$ when setting the new European prices, which compared to the formed USD-only sytem made prices go up by more than 40% in Europe. Many games were now significantly more expensive on Steam than in European retail stores. Wasn’t the whole point of using download stores like Steam that they should be cheaper and more convenient to use?

What does this script do?

This script is meant as a shopping tool for European customers to help avoid being cheated by Steam’s new European prices. It is installed as a user script in the Firefox or Opera web browsers. When visiting Steam’s webshop, prices will be displayed in all three currencies (USD, GBP and EUR), you can also see the percent difference from the North American price. This will enable you to make an informed decision on whether or not the Steam price is acceptable.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 PC – It gets worse only 9v9 mode!

mw222_thumbCall of duty Modern warfare 2 is only days away and for us PC Gamers it means nothing. The totaly crap that te PC Version will be is just not worth it, plus the price from Steam at €60 and no dedicated servers, no mods and only a rubbish 9v9 mode? What in the hell are they thinking? I only bought the last two Modern Warfare games for the “multiplayer” game anyway, i did manage to finish COD 4 in single player but have not done the same with COD 5.

For a company that made their millions on the PC and speaking as someone who has bought every Call of Duty game on the PC im deeply dissapointed that COD Modern warfare 2 is going to be complete crap on the PC.

  • How can a 9V9 mode be any good? Most Cod games at the moment are 32 players with 16 on each side.
  • No dedicated servers.
  • Game is hosted on one players PC, when and if they leave the game pauses for 5 seconds and makes a new player a host
  • No mods

More bad news:

PS
It’s now official, every copy of Modern Warfare 2 will require Steam activation which means you can get it a lot cheaper in your retail store than on Steam (60€). For example in Poland this game is around 25-30€.

And if all the above wasnt bad enough heres more bad news, a comparison between COD MW1 and COD MW 2;

Steam: Is a Rip off – Steam Vs Retail Sales Prices

img_66901_steam_450x360While looking on steam at the price of the new Call of Duty Game Modern Warfare 2 game and being shocked at the price their charging i got an email from play.com telling about how you can pre-order the game and have it on the day of release. When i checked out the two prices it turned out there a huge €15 difference.

Ive posted before about how games on steam are more expensive and its generally known. But how can they justify the charge of €60 for a PC Game? Most PC Games never are more than about €45 in a retail shop on steam however they normally hit €50 or more. So after a little searching i found out that theres are website about this very topic.

So i checked out the prices of 3 new upcoming PC Games and heres the results below;

Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2

Dragons Age of Origin:

Left for Dead 2

  • Steam Price €44.49 (with 10% off)
  • Play.com  €35.49
  • Direct2Drive.co.uk
  • Amazon.co.uk £26.99 / €30

(prices correct as of 6-nov-09)

Average difference in price is about €12 and this is for a digital download with no DVD, case or manual how on earth can this be justified?  Im going to post the prices of the same against Directtodrive which is another digital download service later.

Heres a site i found exposing the problems with steams service;

steamunpowered.eu

Even if after all that if you still dont believe it check out this artivle from the theinquirer.net which lists even more games and the price rip-off;

Company of Heros: Tales of Valor [Steam = £29.99 / Play.com =£17.99]

Football Manager 2009 [Steam = £29.99 / Play.com =£14.99]

Team Fortress 2 Sprays

Heres a collection of TF2 Sprays ive made for myself aka “Fuzzy Dunlop” a name i heard on the TV Series “The Wire”. If you wish to use any of them you will need to save them as .BMP files (Bitmap Files) otherwise Steam wont let you use them as a spray paint. I think i have the Photoshop PSD somewhere which i can upload if you wish to edit the source file and add your own TF2 name.

Valves Steam Game Prices – A Rip off or Buyer Beware?

My Previous post singing the praises of steam may have been a little early. I was looking around the play.com website at game prices and my jaw dropped on the huge price difference between buying the game via play.com and getting a physical copy of the game in your hand and buying it via steam and getting a download version.

As i write this post im kinda discusted at the pricing on Steam it seems greed has taken hold over Games Publishers. Two examples of this price difference are the games;

Age of Conan:

Stalker – Clear Sky:

Thats quite a difference really on average its €12 more expensive on steam. Of course this not be Valves doing, Valve has to make a profit too so who knows the overhead of selling games via Steam. I cant quite understand this, Digital Downloads are suppose to at least be in line with the retail price and certainly not mroe expensive due to the fact that you dont get a Physical copy of the game

(Prices Correct as of 6-oct-2008)
